OPHDST is leading efforts to improve the availability and use of public health data to inform decision-making and action across the public health ecosystem.
Our mission is to optimize timely access, exchange, and integration of public health data, while driving efficiency and consolidation of data and technology systems supported by CDC across all levels of public health and advancing open data and dissemination to inform decision making and action.
We are advancing data for public health action to empower CDC and STLTs to equitably protect health, safety, and security for all.
Our commitment
The factors affecting our nation's health are wide-ranging—from the impacts of a global pandemic, to inefficient or underfunded systems, to new and changing health threats, natural disasters, bio-terrorism, access to healthcare, and the growing burden of noncommunicable diseases and drug overdoses. These issues require strategic thinking, new ideas, flexibility and readiness to connect across disciplines.
OPHDST is dedicated to leading, coordinating and executing a comprehensive public health data strategy to address gaps in public health data and improve health outcomes for all.
OPHDST is made up of a team of experts with cross-functional knowledge and skills. This team is mission-based and customer-focused.
