During the two-year fellowship, host sites are responsible for providing supervision, mentorship, and day-to-day experiential training in applied epidemiology. The EIS program provides multiple structured trainings for the officers and guidance and operational support for supervisors. The supervision and mentorship you provide as a host site prepares the officers to be applied epidemiologists and public health leaders, fosters long-term partnerships, and ultimately shapes the public health workforce.

EIS officers benefit from training and support provided by the EIS program and host sites. Benefits to host sites include:

  • Valuable clinical and scientific skills of EIS officer at minimal or no financial cost to the site
  • Opportunities to participate in the EIS program's trainings for supervisors
