PulseNet Award Recipients
PulseStar Award
Background: Introduced in 1998 by the Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch at CDC, and the Association of Public Health Laboratories. The PulseStar Award recognizes individuals for their contributions to PulseNet that has a significant improvement to procedures, communications, and other activities.
Many of the PulseStar Award recipients are employees at state public health laboratories that are on the PulseNet USA network.
2024 recipients:
- Elizabeth Burgess, Michigan Department of Community Health
- Eric Brandt, Ohio Department of Health
- Eric Keller, Maryland Department of Health Laboratories Administrations
PulseNet Lifetime Achievement Award
Background: New in 2024, this award is given out to an individual whose efforts are truly extraordinary, and has contributed to the advancement of PulseNet activies throughout their career.
2024 recipient: Steve Dietrich, Michigan Department of Community Health
Kati Kelley Award for Exceptional Service to PulseNet
Background: Dr. Kati Kelley dedicated over 40 years of her life to public health service, and was a key supporter and avid champion of the PulseNet program. Now retired, this award recognized a non-microbiologist who demonstrated exceptional service to PulseNet such as advocacy and outreach.
