Requirements
To apply to PHIFP, applicants must:
- Meet the educational, informatics, public health, and research experience requirements as described on the eligibility page.
- Be willing to commit to a two-year, full-time fellowship.
- Be willing to relocate to where the assignment is located.

- PHIFP screens applications for eligibility and quality.
January and February 2025
- CDC host sites contact and interview PHIFP applicants.
February 2025
- CDC host sites make final selections and applicants are notified of acceptance.
March to July 2025
- CDC completes the steps needed to onboard accepted applicants.
August 2025
- Accepted applicants begin their CDC assignments.
September 2025
- New fellows complete a 2-week orientation with PHIFP staff.
