Overcoming Challenges Resulting From COVID-19: New York State’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Initiative

The Creating Healthy Schools and Communities initiative involves 6 strategies, 3 on the part of schools, and 3 on the part of communities. School-based strategies include local wellness policies, comprehensive school physical activity program, and the school nutrition environment. Community-based strategies involve healthy access to food, food standards and policies, and complete streets policy and implementation.
