Partnering with Health Care Systems to Assess Tobacco Treatment Practices and Beliefs Among Clinicians: Evaluating the Process
We compared anticipated study activities with actual activities that occurred November 2011 to June 2012. Activities included partnering with the hospital community, identifying and adapting a survey, obtaining institutional review board approval, system transitions, and survey administration.
Figure 1. Anticipated and actual timeline of activities. Abbreviation: IRB, institutional review board.
The diagram shows the number of surveys fielded via e-mailed letters, the number of clinicians excluded and eligible for the study, and the number of clinicians who completed the survey.
Figure 2. Flow diagram of survey response.
The bar chart illustrates the number of weekly survey responses, beginning April 16, 2012, and ending June 11, 2012, by physicians and nurses participating in the study, along with the date that survey notification, invitation, and reminder letters were sent.
