What to know
Americans are not consuming enough fruits and vegetables despite the health benefits. See how states are doing on important measures of access and affordability. Also see ways to increase fruit and vegetable consumption and promote healthy food environments, particularly in settings that reach children and families.
Background
The State Action Guides include fruit and vegetable intake data from 2015. For intake data from 2019, see Adults Meeting Fruit and Vegetable Intake Recommendations.
The report with 2019 data is the first publication to use a revised Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) module to monitor fruit and vegetable consumption data by state and other characteristics. It cannot be compared to reports with previous BRFSS data. See how to analyze consumption of fruit and vegetables.
