Purpose
January is Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to recognize the impact of work-related cancer in the fire service. Joining the National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer is one thing firefighters can do to help improve our understanding of the link between firefighting and cancer.

This Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month, answer the call and help reduce cancer in the fire service.
[Insert your organization's name here] encourages you to join the National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer. It only takes 5 minutes to get started.
An important part of understanding and reducing work-related cancer is learning more about it. There are many unanswered questions about how cancer risk may vary across our nation's diverse fire service. Signing up for the NFR for Cancer is one thing you can do to help researchers at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) learn more about the relationship between firefighting and cancer. This can ultimately help reduce cancer among firefighters for generations to come.
The NFR for Cancer is open to all U.S. firefighters with or without cancer, no matter your length of service.
