This fact sheet (based on a Workplace Solutions document) describes how employers can reduce the risk of violence at gasoline stations and convenience stores. Workers in these settings are at a higher risk for violence compared with other retail workers and the overall workforce. NIOSH recommends prevention steps that are based on the hierarchy of controls, as well as violence prevention programs.
