Announcement of Eighth National Conference on Chronic Disease Prevention and ControlCDC, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, and the Association of State and Territorial Chronic Disease Program Directors will cosponsor the Eighth National Conference on Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, "The Role of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control in a Changing Health Environment." The conference will be November 17-19, 1993, in Kansas City, Missouri, and is open to the public. The conference will emphasize interactions among federal, state, and local health departments; voluntary health agencies; and professional organizations. Topics will include worksite health promotion, nutrition and health, chronic disease and young persons, diabetes epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, older adults and their health, cardiovascular disease epidemiology, tobacco and health, use of local data for decision making, building community partnerships for healthy behavioral change in schools, and pitfalls of community intervention.
