Notices to Readers National Conference on the Prevention of Primary and Secondary DisabilitiesOn June 6-8, 1991, CDC, the National Council on Disability, and the Minority Health Professions Foundation will cosponsor in Atlanta a conference on the prevention of primary and secondary disabilities. The goal of the conference is to clarify priorities for and provide information on the development of a national plan for the prevention of disabilities. The conference will highlight the Institute of Medicine's report, Disability in America; the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Public Health Service's publication, Healthy People 2000; and prevention-related research, assistive technology, and discussions of draft working papers on developmental disabilities, injuries, chronic conditions, and quality of life issues. The registration deadline is May 1, 1991.
