Check eligibility
Eligible host site candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a public health laboratory at a CDC location or within a state, territorial, local, or tribal public health jurisdiction.
- Designate a primary supervisor who holds a PhD in a laboratory sciences field or a medical degree (MD), has five or more years working experience, and has experience supervising doctoral-level scientists.
- CDC laboratories must designate primary supervisors who are full-time employees (FTEs).
- Primary supervisors should have at least one year's experience working in the jurisdiction or CDC branch of the LLS assignment.
- CDC laboratories must designate primary supervisors who are full-time employees (FTEs).
- Designate at least one secondary supervisor with experience supervising doctoral-level scientists.
- Specify how they will prioritize diversity, equity, and health equity training, particularly in a laboratory leadership and management context.
- Provide projects to fulfill the LLS Core Activities of Learning.
- Agree to the terms of LLS host site supervision as defined in the LLS Memorandum of Assignment (MOA). MOAs are updated annually and available for review by host site applicants upon request.
