Daniel Levine has lived with blood clots for nearly 60 years. Read about his journey, including how he keeps his condition under control.
Daniel's story
I have been afflicted with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) for almost 60 years. I have it in both legs in the groin area. It happened immediately after lower back surgery. I worked and was president of an electronic parts distribution company for over 30 years. I am now retired and have been for the past 24 years. I will be 84 years of age this coming December.
I have kept the consequences of the disease under control all these years by constant wearing of the compression stockings at all times and exercising my legs on a daily basis. My legs are showing the effects of the DVT with discoloring of the skin and the occasional ulcers that form on the skin, but all in all, DVT has not really held me back from living a somewhat normal life with very few exceptions.
