2024-2027

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is continuing its statewide surveillance project with an emphasis on areas at an increased risk of exposure to environmental chemicals. Michigan is also conducting a targeted investigation to assess exposures to metals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) substances in pregnant women.

2019-2024

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is focusing on a statewide surveillance project to assess exposure to heavy metals, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), polychlorinated biphenyls, and organochlorine pesticides in adult residents. The purpose is to establish exposure reference levels in the state. In addition, Michigan is conducting a targeted investigation to assess occupational exposures to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances among firefighters.
